Second Coming

Growing up as identical twin sisters, Lora and Ashley Gerritson always had a special psychic bond. When one would feel pain, sorrow or happiness, the other felt it too. While Lora left the small town that haunted her as a child to become a successful photographer in the big city, her sister, Ashley, remained to live a simple life working at the local diner with her friend Maggie. Lora's life is suddenly changed when she begins to receive chilling visions from her sister, Ashley. Something is horribly wrong...she can feel it. Lora knows she must return to the small town of her childhood to find Ashley. She begins to realize that Barry Drake, a well-loved, upstanding member of the community, may hold the key to finding Ashley. There is something dark and unsettling about him. As the visions become stronger, she feels that time is running out. Prepare yourself for a game of cat and mouse that unfolds to reveal the mystery of a sister's "Second Coming".

Grilled

Maurice (Ray Romano) and Dave (Kevin James) are two meat salesman needing to get more business or they're out of work. Just as things are looking up (thanks to a horny potential client), they are called to the home of a mob princess. Meeting the mobster of the house, he gets them interested in "meat so soft, you don't even have to chew". But as with mafia dealings, they get themselves into a sticky negotiation. Now they have to run around, doing anything to sell meat fast, and with the thought of two hitmen breathing down their backs.

The Lion King

"The Lion King" stars a young lion named Simba. He can't wait to grow up and become the king of his father Mufasa's domain. This is much to the displeasure of Simba's uncle Scar. While Simba is off playing with his friend Nala, Scar is hatching a diobolical scheme with the hyenas to kill Mufasa and Simba so he can be the king. The plan works to perfection with the only glitch being that Simba survives, however he runs off to the jungle thinking he caused his fathers death. He meets a warthog named Pumba and a meekrat named Timon who teach him that the best way to deal with problems is to not worry about them. Meanwhile Scar lets the kingdom get destroyed and barren as both Simba and Nala grow up seperately. Eventually Simba is faced with the choice of facing his past or continue to live in his worry free life.

Tremors

Just as Valentine McKee (Kevin Bacon) and Earl Bassett (Fred Ward) decide to get away from their boring, dead-end lives in the desert town of Perfection, nevada, strange things begin to happen. All of a sudden corpses start turning up around town. When Earl and Val run in to a group of tentacled creatures who have just turned a group of road workers into dinner, they decide to retreat back to town. When they return and spread the word, a bunch of the townspeople decide to help get rid of the creatures. A task that proves trickier than they may have thought..

Fireproof

Firefighter Caleb Holt (Kirk Cameron) is respected and driven member of the force whose commitment to his job has left his wife Catherine (Erin Bethea) feeling neglected and estranged. Their marriage is eventually driven to the breaking point over financial disagreements and Caleb's obsession with internet pornography. Although Caleb and Catherine begin filing for divorce, Caleb is cajoled by his father into an initially halfhearted attempt to win his wife back. For 40 days, Caleb will try to make a new commitment to love, his wife, and God and perhaps save their marriage.

Unfortunately for Jon, his perfect life begins to fall apart when his father Harry (Don Ameche) burns down his trailer and he brings his parents to live with him. Before long his great life starts to crumble, his great wife leaves to go home to her mother, and his great job is lost when he is fired under suspicion of insider trading. The next thing Jon knows his sister is moving in with her wild kids because she got kicked out by her boyfriend. To top all of this off he is about to lose his great home, and all of his money is frozen! What a life!

Chicken Little

The movie Chicken Little is a children's book come to animated life. The main character of this movie is Chicken Little. He starts the movie by saying that the sky is falling and no one believes him. His father, a widowed chicken, is embarresed and tells everyone in the town that his son is imagining things. Flash forward a year and poor Chicken Little is having a rough life. Everyone believes he is a liar and his father has no faith in him. He is outside and once again a piece of the sky falls to the ground. He is sure no one will believe him so he picks up the piece of shy and carries it home. It appears to vanish. His two best friends come over to his house and he shows them the piece of shy which actually does not vanish rather is camafloges to match whatever is next it. Chicken Little tries to tell his father but alas he does not believe him. The rest of the story line deals with how he does indeed get the town to believe in him and regains his father's respect.

Terminator Salvation

Set during the year of 2018 after a nuclear war started by Skynet, a self-aware computer programm, mankind is on the brink of extinction. Salvation lies with the human resistance, and one man in particular; John Connor (Christian Bale). John Connor feels as though he understands and knows his robotic enemies, but this radically changes when he encounters Marcus Wright ( Sam Worthington). Marcus believes he is completely human, but Connor discovers there is more to Marcus then he realizes. Marcus tries to earn Connors trust by informing him the location of Kyle Reese (Anton Yelchin), an important character in the future of the survival of the human race. This leads Connor and Marcus on a journey into the heart of the machine operation and possible extinction. Not only of the resistance, but of the entire human race.

The Boat That Rocked

"The Boat That Rocked" is an ensemble comedy in which the romance takes place between the young people of the '60s and pop music. It's about a band of rogue DJs that captivated Britain, playing the music that defined a generation and standing up to a government that, incomprehensibly, preferred jazz. The Count, a big, brash, American god of the airwaves; Quentin, the boss of Radio Rock -- a pirate radio station in the middle of the North Sea that's populated by an eclectic crew of rock and roll DJs; Gavin, the greatest DJ in Britain who has just returned from his drug tour of America to reclaim his rightful position; Dave, an ironic, intelligent and cruelly funny co-broadcaster; and a fearsome British government official out for blood against the drug takers and lawbreakers of a once-great nation.

Bart Got A Room

High school senior Danny Stein (Steven J. Kaplan) prepares for his Senior Prom. He is a typical nerd and band geek who doesn't have a date to prom. There is his best friend Camille (Alia Shawkat) who doesn't has a date either and is clearly available and interested, however, Danny has his eyes set on the blonde cheerleader who is quite out of his league. Nevertheless, dateless Danny spends $600 on a hotel room, limo and tuxedo. He undergoes peer pressure from friends and uncomfortably frank advice from both of his parents. He realizes that time is running out and he needs to make quick decisions for the best night of his life.

Angel Of Death

Brubaker does it again, this time in movie form. A violent, action-packed, compelling revenge/vigilante story with great performances and fun characters. I've seen others compare it to La Femme Nikita and Alias (odd, the only other female assassin stories that quickly come to mind. If there is a male assassin in a movie is it an imitation of The Mechanic? Or is that only if there is a female in the lead role?) but this film easily stands on it's own. Gratuitous and darkly humorous violence mixed with a engrossing story of a killer who develops a conscience. If you like this you should definitely check out Brubaker's crime comics like Criminal or Sleeper. The guy knows how to tell a story.

17 Again

"17 Again" tells the story of Mike O'Donnell (Matthew Perry) who as a teenager was on top of the world. He was really popular in school, a star on the basketball team ready for college ball and in love with his high school sweetheart. On the day of his big basketball game, his girlfriend Scarlett (Leslie Mann)comes to him and tells him she is pregnant. Mike's reaction is to not play in the game and ask Scarlett to marry him. Fast forward to when they are adults, married and living with 2 kids in a average life. Mike can't help but wonder what his life would have been like if he had played in the big high school game and gone onto college basketball. This annoys Scarlett and she asks him to leave. Mike heads to his old high school to relive some memories, but gets sidetracked as he come across a man about to jump off a bridge. Due to some time warp of sorts the next morning when Mike wakes up, he finds himself in the body of a 17 year old again. (Zac Efron). It is at this point he decides he is going to go back to his old high school in order to figure out where his normal life went off course.

The Colour Of Magic

When Rincewind (David Jason) is finally expelled from the magical Unseen University after spending decades trying to learn magic. While his mind holds the key to one spectacularly powerful spell known as Octavo, Rincewind is unable to learn any other spells. Rincewind instead must opt for becoming a tour guide to a rich insurance salesman named Twoflower (Sean Astin). The two begin a grand adventure throughout the Discworld. As all of this is going on Ymper Trymon (Tim Curry), a power hungry member of the staff at Unseen University, is attempting to gain control. Rincewind and Twoflower become involved in an epic effort to save the world from impending disaster and Trymon himself.

Adventureland

Adventureland is the story of James (Jesse Eisenberg), a young man whose life does not show much promise following his graduation from Oberlin College. His college girlfriend has dumped him, his parents have refused to finance his dream trip to Europe, and he is unable to go to graduate school. His only option becomes moving back in with his parents and taking a job at a theme park called Adventureland. What starts off as an awful job becomes an adventure itself. James ends up meeting a bunch of quirky characters including the manager Bobby (Bill Hader) and his wife Paulette (Kristen Wiig), a slacker handyman named Connell (Ryan Reynolds), and a beautiful college student (Kristen Stewart). By the end of the experience, James will have found love, learned lessons about life, and finally found the direction he needs to go forward in life.

The golden boys

The golden boys tells the story of three retired sea captains -- Zebulon "Zeb" Hedge (Carradine), Perez Ryder (Dern), and Jeremiah "Jerry" Burgess (Torn) -- living together in genteel squalor. They scheme to improve their fortunes by having one of them solicit a bride through an ad in a Boston newspaper. The loser of a coin toss must get married and take in the other two as boarders. But upon the arrival of the Nantucket woman (Mariel Hemingway) selected from the applicants, the captains get cold feet. The trio, aided occasionally by Olive Snook, helps solve the mysteries of various murders, whose murderer is often surprising.

Belle is a young girl mocked by the villagers because she enjoys reading and her father is a scatter brained inventor. One night, her father gets lost and must take refuge in the enchanted home of the Beast, a young man transformed by a spell to remain in a horrible form until he loves and is loved in return. The Beast demands that Belle come stay with him in his mansion to repay the kindness he paid her father. She agrees, to save her beloved father, but will she be strong enough to break the curse and love a beast?

Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs

In this animated classic, Snow White has the misfortune to have an evil stepmother who is jealous of Snow White's beauty. The jealous Queen orders that Snow White be taken into the forest and killed. The huntsman, however, can't kill the beautiful and falls in love with the girl, so he leaves her in the forest. Snow White wanders around until she comes to a little house. Seven little men live in this house: Sleepy, Dopey, Sneezy, Doc, Bashful, Grumpy, and Happy. They welcome Snow White into their household where she is very happy. The evil Queen learns from her magic mirror that Snow White is still alive and living with the the 7 dwarves. She is furious. Three times she calls on the cottage trying to kill Snow White. The first time she laces Snow White so tightly that she passes out. Snow White is saved by the 7 little men. The second time, dressed as a different peddlar, she puts a poisoned comb into Snow White's hair which makes her unconscious. Once again she's saved by the dwarves. Finally, dressed as another old woman, she gives her a piece of poisoned apple. Snow White falls into a deep sleep from which the dwarves can't awaken her. They put her in a glass coffin and watch over her. One day a Prince is going by, sees the sleeping Snow White who he's already in love with, kisses her, and she awakens. The wedding plans begin.

Home

This film consists almost entirely of aerial shots of different places on Earth. A narrator (Glenn Close) provides some details about the locations and the origins of life on Earth, before focusing on the changes that humans have made to the environment throughout history. First, the effects of agriculture are examined, followed by the large shifts in industry and the consumption of resources. The latter portion of the film focuses on global warming and carbon emissions, as well as desertification and refugee problems as a result of climate change, before changing to a study of possible reforms and remedies to the problems facing the planet.

Ice Age: Dawn Of The Dinosaurs

Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs is the third move in the popular Ice Age franchise. Picking up up where the second movie left off, Manny (Ray Romano) and Eliie (Queen Latifah) have settled down, and are ready to start a family. This new focus on family over friends leaves Manny’s companions Sid the Sloth (John Leguizamo) and Diego the tiger (Dennis Leary) to feel neglected and unappreciated. When he stumbles upon a cache of dinosaur eggs, Sid decides to raise them as his own. Matters are complicated, however, when the rightful mother of the eggs appears, looking for her offspring. Sid is taken deep underground to the dinosaurs lair, and his friends must rescue him. They are joined by a new character, a swashbuckling weasel named Buck (Simon Pegg). Scratch the squirrel (Chris Wedge) also returns, this time, meeting his match in his quest for acorns.

Jake Preston (Nicholas Cage) is a U. S. Army helicopter pilot helping the DEA fight the drug cartels in South America, when his close friend is killed by mercenary Eric Stoller (Eric Stoller), who the cartels have hired and equipped with a air combat helicopter. Heading back to the U. S., Preston applies for and gets reassigned to an Apache squadron where the commander, Brad Little (Tommy Lee Jones), is training pilots to take on air-to-air combat . With the assistance of scout pilot Billie Lee Guthrie (Sean Young), Preston hopes to go back and stop Stoller from interfering with any further operations.

Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium

Mr. Magoriums Wonder Emporium is the story of a magical toy store owned by Mr. Magorium (Dustin Hoffman). This special store comes to life for those who are able to see the wonder of toys and the joys that they bring to all people. Mr. Magorium has a nice girl named Molly Mahoney (Natalie Portman) who has been working in the store for years, because she has been unable to finish writing her piano piece. He then brings in Henry the accountant (Jason Bateman) to help put his financial affairs in order. Although the two younger people do not hit it off immediately, there is definitely a level of interest between the sales clerk and the accountant. Mr. Magorium though seemingly oblivious, is actually very happy with the connection between the two of them. When the store becomes emotionally charged over one of Mr. Magorium's decisions, he is quite certain that the sales clerk, with the help of the accountant and a young boy who frequents the shop, will be able to handle the new situation.
