Soul Men

Floyd Henderson (Bernie Mac) and Louis Hinds (Samuel L. Jackson) used to be backup singer for Marcus Hooks (John Legend) in a popular 1970's R&B band. Marcus had a chance to become a megastar by going solo and took the opportunity and dumped his band mates. In the interim Louis's life took a major downturn and Floyd has become a successful businessman but for a cheesy string of car washes. Hooks dies and when it's announced that there's going to be a musical memorial for the legend Hooks, Floyd thinks it would be a good idea for he and Louis to go back to the east coast and perform a bunch of their hits at the tribute. After all, they were an integral part of the band. Louis on the other hand doesn't think it's a good idea, nor does he relish the thought of driving across the country in Floyd's ancient convertible. Can Floyd convince Louis to make the trek, and if so, is it really a good idea?
