Blood Diamond

Blood Diamond is about Danny Archer a mercenary from Rhodesia that moved to South Africa. He is involved with trading blood diamonds from Sierra Leone onto the world market. He comes across Solomon Vandy in prison who has found and hidden a large diamond worth millions. One of Solomon’s children is taken away by rebels in his absence and become trained as a child soldier. Eventually after much persuasion Danny and Solomon get together to go and find the diamond that he had hidden. The plot includes the “colonel” who taught Danny all about being a soldier when they were in the army together and he was his commanding officer. The colonel works with a large mercenary organisation in Africa that deals with governments and blood diamonds. He also wants a piece of this legendary enormous diamond which has been found and buried.

A drama centered on the efforts of John and Aileen Crowley to find a researcher who might have a cure for their two children's rare genetic disorder.

Raging Phoenix

Raging Phoenix possesses stunning martial arts choreography while following the conventions of the kung fu genre. The film opens with several women being abducted and Jija’s character, Deu, being left by her mother, abandoned by her band, and longing to join her dead father. Deu, depressed and drunk, is rescued by Kazu Patrick Tang’s character, Sanim, during a botched attempt to kidnap Deu. Sanim fights off the gang would-be kidnappers in an acrobatic sequence filled with attackers on pogo-shoes.

Brothers

Captain Sam Cahill (Tobey Maguire) is a hard-working Marine who has just received yet another order to ship out to Afghanistan. Before he leaves, he picks up his brother Tommy (Jake Gyllenhaal) after he just finished serving a term in prison for a bank robbery. He hopes that Tommy will be able to grow up and be there for Sam's wife Grace (Natalie Portman) and their two children. When Sam's plane is gunned down and he is feared dead, Tommy steps up and becomes a rock for Grace and the children, and Grace and Tommy find themselves romantically involved. When Sam is rescued and brought home, his adjustment back to civilian life is proving to be challenging, and is made even more difficult when he learns of Tommy's relationship with Grace. Will Sam's extreme jealousy tear the family apart?

Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), a former U.S. Marine is selected to participate in the Avatar program. He is sent to a Planet called Pandora, residence of a primitive Na’vi alien race. He meets his officer Colonel Miles Quaritch (Stephen Lang) there who handles the human colony there. The authorities want to explore the planet for resources but are obstructed by the Na’vi. They convert Jake into a Na’vi hybrid and ask him to go to the Na’vi home to convince them to leave. While exploring the area Jake loses his group and is saved from wild animals by Neytiri (Zoe Saldaña) a female Na’vi. Jake starts gaining their trust as a Na’vi hybrid. He also reports to his commander simultaneously. He eventually decides to stop the humans from removing Na’vi people from that place and joins them as a Na’vi leaving his human body.

Ultraviolet

In the future, genetic engineering has backfired and created a second human species that are almost identical to the mythological vampires. Increased speed, senses, and strength; along with a need for blood, renders these Hemophages outcasts in a nearly totalitarian world ran by Daxus (Nick Chinlund). Violet (Milla Jovovich) is a Hemophage fighting with a resistance group against Daxus and must steal a "cure" for the Hemophages that will actually kill them. When she discovers the "cure" is encased within a young boy (Cameron Bright), Violet embarks on a quest to save the boy from both Daxus and the other Hemophages. But will she discover Daxus’s terrible secret in time to save the boy and herself?

Predator 2

Lieutenant Mike Harrigan (Danny Glover) of the L. A. police department unexpectedly starts to find drug kingpins murdered in a gruesome fashion by an unknown, unearthly force. His bosses try to get him to leave the matter alone, but when his own people begin to join the victims, he becomes determined to get to the bottom of these deaths. He soon finds out that the murders are the work of of an alien predator (Kevin Peter Hall) who kills for sport. To stop these murders, Harrigan must match wits with a being with superior strength, technology and weaponry... and risk becoming another trophy on its wall.

Predator

Dutch (Arnold Schwarzenegger) leads a team of experienced military personnel deep into the jungle to rescue a group of kidnapped diplomats. Soon after landing in the jungle they discover that their team sponsor Dillon (Carl Weathers) lied to them and they were really brought in to illegally take out a group of rebel soldiers. While they are preparing to pull out they find a crashed helicopter with the pilots skinned alive and a scared rebel girl going on about the forest "eating" the men. Soon Dutch and his crew are in a fight for their lives again a strange alien presence that can blend into the woods, carries weaponry far beyond anything on earth, and has super-human strength. As the soldiers are picked off one-by-one it becomes an all-out battle for survival as Dutch takes on the Predator in the ultimate battle of man versus monster.

Aliens Vs Predator - Requiem

“AVPR: Aliens vs. Predator - Requiem" picks up directly where the first Aliens vs. Predator left off. A Predator/ Alien hybrid had been birthed on the Predator ship. The newly born alien slaughters the entire crew and the ship crash back on Earth in a no name town in the secluded mountains of Colorado. Face huggers escape the ship and infect local townsfolk creating more aliens. A Predator (Ian Whyte) learns of this back on the home world and ventures off to Earth to find the town over run with aliens. With the National Guard defeated, the lone Predator must team with local town sheriff, Sheriff Morales (John Ortiz), Kelly O'Brien (Reiko Aylesworth) and Dallas (Steven Pasquale) in order to survive the increasing blood bath.

The Hurt Locker

Staff Sergeant William James (Jeremy Renner) happily takes on the lead as the newest sergeant in charge of an elite Explosive Ordnance Disposal team. His special elite team is based in Iraq where in the chaos of war in the city, anyone can be a potential enemy whereas a harmless looking object could be a deadly bomb. Staff Sergeant James is known to be both daring and reckless, with no regards to safety measures. Unknown to his two subordinates, Sergeant JT Sanborn (Anthony Mackie) and Specialist Owen Eldridge (Brian Geraghty), they are going to have the surprise of their lifetime when they are both forced to combat in a deadly game.

The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy

Ever wonder what happens when there needs to be an intergalactic space highway through the planet earth, and your best friend is actually an alien? Well in the Hitchhikers Guide, it leads to one crazy space adventure. On the way, the main guy meets up with many odd people, including a two headed pirate, a depressed robot and even his ex girlfriend. The movie is filled with humor especially when they use the infinite improbability drive, when they turn into random objects, at well, random. For example, when they turn to yarn people, one of them throw up and its yarn. The Hitchhikers Guide to the galaxy, is a movie I recommend to anyone who love quirky humor, the book, or need a good family film.

Aeon Flux

The 2005 film “Aeon Flux” is based upon the popular MTV animated series of the same name by Peter Chung. In the future, a deadly virus sweeps the globe, killing nearly all of its human inhabitants. The survivors gather together to create the city of Bregna. While the walled city seems on the surface to be beautiful and idealistic, it also contains an intolerant and oppressive government. A group of underground dissenters form. Calling themselves the Monicans they seize every opportunity to disrupt the government's hold on its citizens.Aeon Flux (Charlize Theron) is a Monican operative. After the death of her sister by the order of the Bregnan chairman, her mission becomes singular: to kill the one responsible, Trevor Goodchild (Marton Csokas). With the aid of fellow operative and friend Sithandra (Sophie Okonedo), Aeon discovers a secret hidden by the Bregnan government for centuries. Now unable to tell friend from foe, Aeon must ally herself with Trevor against his brother and would be dictator Oren (Johnny Lee Miller) in order to save herself and what is left of humanity.

The Running Man

In the year 2017 Ben Richards (Arnold Schwarzenegger) refuses to fire upon civilians during a food riot. Because of this refusal he is turned in to a scapegoat for the many civilians that are killed and is given the nickname 'The Butcher of Bakersfield'. After managing to escape from prison, Richards tries to return to his family, but finds that they have been taken. Unfortunately he is recaptured and forced to participate in a show called 'The Running Man', where he must attempt to survive a gladiator style competition. Several Stalkers are employed by the show to attempt to stop and kill the competitors on the show, which include other men that escaped from prison with Richards. After surviving several of these Stalkers, Richards becomes too popular and they try to buy him off and make him a Stalker, but he refuses. Soon Richards joins a group that is attempting to fight the network that produces the show and they must attempt to bring out the truth in the face of danger to their lives.

Top Gun

What do you get when you mix a cocky young flight student, a group of “ego-gized” guys who want to be the best fighter pilots, and a female flight instructor? “Top Gun”. This is an 80’s hit feature about fighter pilot school, and one young man’s quest to be number one. Along with his flight partner Goose (Anthony Edwards), Maverick (Tom Cruise) competes with his fellow comrades to be the top fighter pilot. He quickly learns that he has some fierce competition, particularly with a cadet named Iceman (Val Kilmer). Will a romance with a flight instructor (Kelly McGillis), the reminder of departed loved ones, and an intense rivalry to win cause Maverick to choke and crash? Or will he become “Top Gun”?

Harold & Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay

Follows the cross-country adventures of the pot-smoking duo as they try to outrun authorities who suspect them of being terrorists when they try to sneak a bong on board their flight to Amsterdam.

Solstice

Her twin sister Sofie’s (Elisabeth Harnois) unexplained suicide has taken a very hard toll on Megan (Elisabeth Harnois). She’s been completely distraught and unable to move on with life, but she reluctantly decides to go on an annual trip with her friends. Every year, they take a trip to a lake house in the Louisiana bayous during the summer solstice. Once they get there, Megan starts to feel a strange presence. Since the solstice is the one time that this world and the next are closest, she begins to believe Sofie is trying to communicate with her. Soon, she realizes that the presence is not her sister, and the advent of solstice brings with it sinister secrets and horrifying events.

House Of The Spirits

This film is set in South America in the 1930s. Nivea (Vanessa Redgrave) and Severo (Armin Muehler-Stahl) have two girls, Rosa and Clara. Esteban (Jeremy Irons) is a poor man who loves Rosa but must make himself wealthy before he marries her. Rosa dies drinking wine that was poisoned. Esteban becomes a landowner who treats his servants badly and has an illegitimate son. Esteban’s sister, Ferla (Glenn Close), cares for their mother until she dies and Esteban comes back. He sees Clara (Meryl Streep), who has been in love with him for years. They have a daughter, Blanca, who is sent away for getting too close to an Indian. Blanca (Winona Ryder) returns years later to her beloved Pedro (Antonio Banderas). Esteban hates Pedro for unionizing and drives him away along with Ferla. Clara takes Blanca and leaves him. As a senator, Esteban is overthrown by liberals and the military takes over. Blanca finds out that Pedro is still alive.

Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle

Harold (John Cho) and Kumar (Kal Penn) are two young adult stoners whose desire for White Castle hamburgers to cure their munchies takes them on an outrageous adventure across New Jersey. Harold is a junior investment banker who is constantly stepped on at work because of his Asian ethnicity and quiet nature. Harold has a crush on his neighbor Maria (Paula Garces), but lacks the confidence to approach her. Kumar is the son of a doctor with a predisposition for medical work, but no desire for a career. A night of smoking and watching TV gives Harold and Kumar an insatiable craving for White Castle fast food, but there is no nearby White Castle. The two travel through New Jersey searching for White Castle, but encounter several roadblocks and hijinks along the way.

The Slammin' Salmon

Slammin' Cleon Salmon (Michael Clarke Duncan), a retired Heavyweight Champion, is now the owner of a swanky restaurant in Miami. He owes $20,000 to the head of the Japanese Yakuza, and finds out that he needs to pay off this gambling debt by the end of the night. In order to raise the money, he challenges his wait staff to sell as much as they can, with the highest earning waiter earning $10,000, and the loser earning a heavy beat down at the hand of the winner. Waiters Mia (April Bowlby), Guy (Erik Stolhanske), Nuts (Jay Chandrasekhar), and Tara (Cobie Smulders) are among the waiters competing for the prize, but only one will win. Will the ploy to make money work, or will Slammin' Salmon find himself at the end of the night, without the money to pay his gambling debt?

Poseidon

A great New Year’s Eve party is underway on the ‘Poseidon’, a beautiful cruise ship. At midnight with the cries of “Happy New Year”, ringing in everyone’s ears, a huge rogue wave crashes into the ship and rolls it upside down. Nearly everyone is killed in the accident but in the ballroom hundreds have escaped the initial carnage. Realizing that the only way to survive is to get to the surface of the water, a few members set out to get help. As they make their way through falling debris and rising flood water, some of the expedition perishes along the way. Will they make it to safety or perish amongst the sinking ship?

Alien Vs. Predator

A group of people searching for "hidden treasure" end up far away from home when people start dying. They don't know what is happening until they go deep underground and they meet up with Alien and Predator, who both are doing the killings. Eventually the Alien and Predator start fighting for supremacy, while the humans sneak around trying not to get killed. At points it seemed like the Predator was protecting the humans. Eventually the humans are able to get out of the cave, and cause a big explosion to try to kill all the Aliens and Predator. Unfortunatly they were not entirely successful as with most movies, it seems to be setting up for a sequal.

Total Recall

From the moment Douglas Quaid {Arnold Schwarzenegger} is strapped into an elaborate device at Rekall Inc. for a "virtual vacation" on Mars, director Paul Verhoeven leads you down two separate paths: is this all happening in Quaid's mind (as Rekall Inc. has promised)... or has something gone horribly wrong in reality? Quaid's vacation on Mars becomes an action/adventure involving the sinister Vilos Cohaagen's {Ronny Cox} financially motivated plot to control the oxygen supply of Mars; his wife Lori {Sharon Stone} who is suddenly trying to kill him; and the unbelievable discovery that he (Quaid) used to be some kind of spy named Hauser, and Cohaagen has assassins after him. Reality and fantasy become indistinguishable from each other, both for Quaid/Hauser and the viewer, as Quaid pursues his dream of being a superhero who can save an entire planet.

The Forbidden Legend: Sex And Chopsticks II

Rich scholar Simon Qing (Lam Wai Kin) has yet to lose his virginity despite being schooled in the art of love by his virile father (Norman Tsui Siu Keung). All that changes when he meets first love Violetta (Uehara Kaera), who introduces Simon to manhood through many encounters and even more positions. However, their multiple trysts fail to create a lasting love. Heartbroken, Simon takes to the road, where he meets a new woman, inexperienced nun Moon (Wakana Hikaru), who abandons her chaste ways to learn all about carnal pleasure from Simon. But even after marrying Moon, Simon is not satisfied, and his morality slowly erodes in favor of his boundless lust. He soon falls for Golden Lotus (Hayakawa Serina), who charms him with her natural beauty and small bound feet. Golden Lotus is married to ugly merchant Wu Da Lang (Ng Chi Hung), but even the covenant of marriage is no obstacle to Simon. Together, he and Golden Lotus plot Da Lang's murder, so that she can join Simon's growing harem of wives.

Crazy On The Outside

Tommy (Tim Allen) has just come out after spending three years in jail and is living with his sister Vicky (Sigourney Weaver) and her family. Tommy wants to get back with his old girlfriend Christy (Julie Bowen) but Vicky tells him that she is dead. He later finds that Christy is alive but engaged and that Vicky had lied to keep the knowledge of engagement from him. Further, his ex-partner in crime Gray (Ray Liotta) is back. Tommy also starts falling in love with his probation officer Angela (Jeanne Tripplehorn) and thus does not want to tell her anything about Gray. Vicky wants to keep him safe and will do anything for it.

Ben 10: Alien Swarm

Ben (Ryan Kelley), Gwen (Galadriel Stineman), and Kevin (Nathan Keyes) negotiate with black market dealers selling alien nanotechnology. They find that one of the dealers, Elena (Alyssa Diaz), is their childhood friend and wants their help in saving her father who has been kidnapped. However, due to chips spreading suddenly Ben transforms into Big Chill (Dee Bradley Baker). Kevin and Gwen think that Elena is trying to double cross them. Max (Barry Corbin) tells them that Elena’s father Victor Validus (Herbert Siguenza) was his apprentice who stole the original chips and Elena is like her father. Eventually, Ben does not believe him and decides to help Elena. Kevin and Gwen also join him in the quest to defeat the queen of the Hive and to get Elena’s father back.

Cargo

It is the year 2267. After the earth has become uninhabitable due to an ecological collapse, the remaining people live on overcrowded space stations in earth's orbit. The young doctor Laura Portmann is one of them. She hopes for a better future on the distant planet Rhea. But to get there she needs money. She signs up with Kuiper Enterprises for a job on the decrepit cargo ship Kassandra, heading for an eight-year flight to space station #42 (in orbit around minor planet RH278) and back.

Zombieland

A tainted food supply has turned the world in a force of zombies on the prowl for the few survivors of the human race. Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg) is an enterprising zombie survivor with some steadfast rules of engagement, though his phobias could prove his undoing. Columbus wants to find his parents, but along the way he meets Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson), a knowledgeable zombie expert killer. His creative energy helps him eradicate zombies with élan. Two sisters named Wichita (Emma Stone) and Little Rock (Abigail Breslin) are not to be trusted, but team up with the men. They believe there is a zombie-free zone in Los Angeles and will do whatever it takes to get there.

Old Dogs

Dan (Robin Williams) and Charlie (John Travolta) are friends and colleagues. Dan was once married, and with his divorce, he is now very dejected. To cheer him up, Charlie takes him on a vacation. There, Dan meets Vicki (Kelly Preston) and her friend Jenna (Rita Wilson). Dan and Vicki soon get married, but their bondage is momentary. Some time later, Vicki returns and hands over to Dan two children, Zach (Connor Rayburn) and Emily (Ella Bleu Travolta) whom she claims to be Dan’s children born to her. Thus, both Dan and Charlie are entrusted with the care of the twins, that too, during a crucial period of their business. Not very experienced in child care, they find it difficult to look after the twins and face several set backs. However, they slowly learn the things that are important in human life.

The Lovely Bones

14 year old Susie Salmon (Saoirse Ronan) has been murdered by her neighbor George Harvey (Stanley Tucci). From beyond she watches both over her family, as well as her killer. The young girl narrates the story from Heaven while the lives of all the people around her are undergoing changes while they try to get someone to look for her body. She is charged with the decision to seek revenge or to help her family heal after her murder. Her parents and other family members try to handle her loss and also try to track down the killer as he prepares to strike again. Will the killer be allowed to strike again?

The Informers

In the amoral Hollywood of the 1980s, no one has a sense of what is important or why before AIDS and in the middle of a drug explosion. A studio head named William (Billy Bob Thornton) seems to be a ringmaster of hedonistic chaos, while his wife Laura is a drug abuser who uses bisexual male prostitutes for a kick. A would-be actor and drug abuser named Jack (Brad Renfro) is used by a ruthless Uncle Peter (Mickey Rourke) for shady activities, and a father named Les Price (Chris Isaak) tries to pull his gay son out of the influences around them. No act is too heinous for the people in this world, and their unpleasantness resonates around the business and the culture they represent.

Leaves Of Grass

Twin brothers could not be more different. Conservative and responsible, Bill Kincaid (Edward Norton) is a Midwestern scholar who is about to take a job at Harvard as a professor. His ne’er-do-well brother Brady (Edward Norton) is a pot-smoking pothead whose business is cultivating marijuana and living on the edge. Dealing with the underworld, Brady finds himself in trouble with the Mob leader named Pug Rothbaum (Richard Dreyfuss) and fakes his death, but cannot fool the family matriarch Daisy Kinkaid (Susan Sarandon). Forcing his brother Bill back to the homestead, the twins team up to save Brady and have revenge on the organized criminals.
